Career Development Specialist I-Youth

The Southeast Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board (SELACO WDB), is seeking a dedicated Career Development Specialist I (CDSI) to join our Youth Department. This role supports young participants in achieving their full potential by assisting with intake, assessments, orientations, enrollments, follow-ups, and the distribution of support services and checks. The CDSI will also help ensure the department meets its performance goals while maintaining accurate records in designated platforms and ensuring all WIOA and eligibility requirements are met.

As part of the Boots on the Ground team, the CDSI will be out-stationed at various community locations to strengthen the connection between disconnected youth and SELACO’s services. They will also play a key role in facilitating orientations and supporting SELACO’s WDB specialized youth programs/activities that enhance job readiness such as workshops, participant engagement activities and more.

Ideal candidates should be proficient in Microsoft programs, detail-oriented, comfortable with public speaking/outreach activities, and passionate about supporting youth in their career development journey. Business Engagement Specialist

The Southeast Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board (SELACO WDB), a non-profit Workforce Development Board, provides a range of services to businesses in Southern California, including employee capacity building, assistance with recruitment, job fairs, talent matching, support to businesses who are facing lay-offs, at risk of closing, and paid work experience opportunities.

We are seeking a Business Engagement Specialist experienced in establishing business connections that lead to opportunities for business growth and development. Ideal candidates can complete Business Need Assessments and facilitate services that support opportunities for paid work experience/internships, building capacity for incumbent worker training, and facilitating job placement opportunities for enrolled customers in SELACO WDB’s workforce services programs. Selected candidates will excel at creating relationships and leveraging knowledge of workforce development services to address business needs across industries such as manufacturing, logistics, construction, hospitality, medical, technology, and other growth sectors. Candidates must have excellent verbal, written, and public presentation skills, as well as a combination of education and experience equivalent to at least three years of relevant work experience. A valid California driver’s license, a clean driving record, and proof of insurance are required. Salary Range: $50,368 – 61,223 annually, with a generous benefits package.
